I am not sure how can i get the velocity from them in to a VDB so i can use VDB advect points... any pointers to tutorials appreciated! O/. pbarua
You need vel vdb to advect point from. Create a vel VDB from bin particles' v attribute.

There's some good examples of it's use here: http://www.openvdb.org/download/ get the file "Houdini Examples". -G
