ispep
So I know how to do this in 3DS MAX I'm just trying to get it working in houdini; using its built in comp I can generate a simple noise map but how do I reference this at sop level - this way I don't have to create the files beforehand and can have it procedurally generate the necessary amount of frames. I have plugged in a caustics file from that free generator and gotten this result, but its way too big and I can't find a way of tiling it. scratch that. as is usual I do find way of tiling it, by unticking cone angle for field of view. Sorry. edit; unfortunately it doesn't actually render so even if I did get my own procedurally generated images referenced they wouldn't show on the render. Can anyone help with that please? Guest tar
Not sure why it's not working for you; check the attached. Caustics2.hip
ispep
That seems to work for me, not sure why it wasn't working previously. Thanks a bunch, it's genuinely appreciated.
jkunz07
That's quite a nice caustic pattern pictured in your first post ispep, are you generating it in Houdini or elsewhere?
ispep
That's from the generator; http://www.dualheights.se/caustics/ it has a free version.
