aley
Would someone mind explaining to me a little bit about getting noise out of refractions? Ive tried upping sampling on lights and in mantra both max samples and pixels samples as well as dropping noise level still cant seem to get something acceptable. here is a test scene, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks refractNoise.hiplc

Guest tar
Try an HDR on an environment light - it may work more efficiently with multiple importance sampling.

Guest tar
Looking at your original file, checking the Enable Opacity Falloff seems to work too. Under Mantrasurface/Surface/Opacity -> Enable Opacity Falloff. Also play with the values, especially Perp Opacity. You can then set your Mantra node up with the standard Variance Ray Sample settings.
