Using the default st values as uv values

Hey everyone,

 

I am trying to promote the default st values that are used when there are no uv values attached to geometry in combination with other geometry that does have uv values assigned.

 

Basically I have two primitve groups on a single bit of geometry -- the first group uses a UV texture SOP to get its uv values. But for the second group I want essentially to have a texture map applied per-polygon, which is what happens by default. It's just that once a UV SOP of any variety is used, the defaults get stomped on. And of course, I can't merge them either.

 

Any idea how to promote the default coordinates to uv level?
