magneto
Hi, I saw this video but there isn't much info about what is uses or how it works: Any ideas?
kungFu
it looks a little like displaced geometry inside a solver SOP but some of them look like they have noise running through them. I recognize the patter in the leafy looking one as "diffusion reaction". try these: http://forums.odforce.net/topic/20929-noob-how-to-create-a-growth-effect-using-the-solver-sop/ http://forums.odforce.net/topic/13338-reaction-diffusion/?hl=%2Bdiffusion+%2Breaction http://zephmann.com/aggregation.html(diffusion limited aggregation... ie "stuff piles up and follows a diffuse pattern") eetu did some stuff on it too...can't find it right now. Solitude
Eetu has an example of it in his thread. For some if it, It was basically measure curvature, displace based on curvature, convert to volume (to keep detail without subdividing), repeat. I have a hip file set up somewhere doing it on vdb volumes... but it'll have to wait until I get home. But the reaction diffusion is also used for determining where to displace in other examples. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3ArOtmU3eiLOUZwWHliM0RrUElUVTd0S1BObUFDLTFwNmhV/view?usp=sharing
Solitude
I've attached a hip file. I think I have a slightly faster version of it somewhere else, but basically the thing has to be pretty high res to work well. Also, it's very crashy for me. Something to do with the sop solver and vdb... *shrug*. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3ArOtmU3eiLOGZqS3lMaUY2c1k/view?usp=sharing << playblast Found eetu's : http://forums.odforce.net/topic/8471-eetus-lab/?p=120639 http://forums.odforce.net/topic/8471-eetus-lab/?p=120749 They look awesome recursive_growth_if.hip Edited December 2, 2015 by Solitude
