polyExtrude in global mode. Doesn't seem to work in global space?

Recommended Posts

I want to extrude a plane in global Y, so I set my polyExtrude to Translate Global and change the Translate Y parameter. This doesn't work. I also get translation in X. The only way to achieve extrusion only down global Y is to also set Translate X to offset the error.

Why is this. Shouldn't I only need to change Y to get a translation along global Y?

Ive attached a file with a off axis grid. The perfect global Y extrustion I added to it has a translate value of 0.5,-0.5,0 to work properly. Im so confused why I cant just use 0,-0.5,0

????

anyone have any explanations for this. I'd love to understand this better

Using "Global" mode and changing only yth field, I get a proper vertical extrusion on latest build. There are several big changes in Poly Extrude 2.0 I saw in Journals yesterday, which was introduced in past couple of months. There are some warnings about parameters on this node when I open a scene, and your 0.5,-0.5,0 gives me skewed extrusion.
