rich_lord
Id really like a good method for creating bevels over geo. Im not sure what the best method for this is in Houdini. Heres some really simple examples. I cant get the normals of the cubes to stay 'true' after the bevel. I guess I could facet them, but thats not the look im after. Also, corners get screwed up really easily. Are there good methods for achieving this? In the attached file is a simple cookie operation over two cubes, resulting in an ugly bevel. There is also a version where the cubes are procedurally placed. Changing the seed on the top geo node will show off many of the problems im trying to fix. Thanks for any insight! bevel_issue.hip
f1480187
There is workaround for this issue. May help or not, depending on your case. bevel_issue_workaround.hipnc
rich_lord
This is an interesting technique f1480187! Thanks for showing it to me. It does indeed keep the main faces true, which is important. The bevel SOP itself still makes a bit of a mess at the corners though. I really hope they redo this SOP......
