magneto Posted January 19, 2016 Share Posted January 19, 2016 Hi, I was checking out this tutorial on elasticity but the author uses things like Gas Particle To Field DOP to use strain attribute, etc but AFAIK Gas Strain DOPs create fields not attributes so not sure what he is actually doing. Is he trying to increase the amplitude of the strain forces? If so, how would one do this? Multiplying the strain matrix destabilizes the simulation. In the end, everything in Houdini is about attributes and having points do what you want them to - and flips are particles that are points. So if you know what you want them to do, how to interact, it's all about getting them doing that - be is using a VOP-SOP, VEX, or nodes to do it for you. In this case you want particle interaction to bounce and attract at the same time, Yancy did that using these particular nodes - but I'm sure you could get the same effect with a completely different setup - as long as it makes the particles do what they need.
