rich_lord
Hello! I was very happy with myself for a second because I worked out how to use a dopfield expression to get the transform of a DOP object, and use it to move a world space constraint about. Then I got sad again as I realized I couldn't so this with packed prims. I tried attaching a SOP Solver to my constraint network. Within that, I can move the constraints around no problem. But I cant work out how to make them follow the transform of a particular packed primitive. Sorry to be asking so many questions today, but I'm having a real struggle with all these concepts. I attached a file which does what I want with regular RBD's in one geometry node, and one where I attempt to do the same with packed prims. Any ideas? 16_02_28_tracking dop objects.hip
rich_lord
Ok I think I solved this. It came down to me needing to understand how all the paths worked in the dopimport and objectmerge nodes inside the SOP Solver. Once I pulled in the correct data, it worked well. Thoose expressions are not easy to understand, and I couldn't work out what this bit meant - chsop("relnode") . Anyone know? I ended up just removing it and setting it explicitly. Heres a working file! 16_02_28_tracking dop objects.hip
