anthonymcgrath
hey everybody i'm trying to create an animated character and use pop grains to get him to crumble apart (hopefully) so i have my alembic character mesh from maya animating away. I clicked on the pop grains and sure enough the character appears to fill with pop grains. beyond that though i have no idea how to get it working - it just seems the pop grains fall onto the ground plane and they dont animate i figure i can use the glue constraint to hold them all together but this still doesn't make them animate with the mesh. can anyone give me any thoughts? I surfed the local help docs and if i want to throw bowls of sushi or bacon onto the floor thats fine but ideally i'd like this character to hold together and then crumble away using a point node or something so he crumbles from the top down thanks ant
anthonymcgrath
okay if i dive into the node where my alembic is and find the dopimport i click on "use single object" import style to "transform input geometry" that seems to make the grains in the char node (see image) animate with the alembic.. Also the grains seem to start falling... the grains in the autodopNetwork continue to fall and spread out.. but the ones in the character node seem to just bounce off the groundplane as one clunky object lol
