nigelgardiner
Hi there So I've made a flip splash via a collision with a shallow tank of flip and that's all fine, it does everything you'd expect it to as in rises up, radiates out, curves over, looks really nice. What I need to do tho is somehow control how far it radiates out in say the z direction in comparison to the x direction if that makes sense? I guess like an elliptical rather than circular splash. I've tried various dop forces but they destroy the nature of the splash pretty quickly. Also tried using a pop curve force but again it really does mess with the structure of the splash pretty quickly. I've had the best results with the velocity impulse field so I'm thinking maybe I should be updating the velocity field directly but I'm not sure what exactly I should be updating the velocities to to get what I need. In my simple mindedness I wonder if I could say v.x = 2*v.z if i wanted it to travel out further in the x direction. I'll try that when I get back to my machine and see what happens. Does anyone have any ideas that could point me in the right direction please. thanks Nigel.
nigelgardiner
Actually, there's no way that simple minded idea would work so scratch that..
nigelgardiner
a gentle push with pop axis force and a couple of velocity impulse fields works. tho i'm sure there must be a more elegant solution.
