adrianr
As per title - Forced matte uses the whole geometry as a hold out, but I just want it to use the alpha of a texture uv'd onto a grid, not the whole grid. The object also needs to be phantom to appear in refractions but not the render or alpha itself. I'm sure it's just a combination of check boxes I'm missing but getting forced matte to obey the texture alpha would be a good start. Cheers! adrianr
I did this with deep in the end but if anyone finds this topic later, I have logged a feature request with SideFX for this, RFE (ID=78254) Still happy for any solutions though. I'm sure i'll have plenty more times when I need something quick and dirty rather than doing a full deep render.
