What is the correct formula to find your voxel count?

I think it is the following, but I'm not certain;

Length / Division size * Width / Division size * Height / Division size

Which is just using the formula to find volume and dividing by division size.

Also, can you confirm that the quality depends on the position relative to the camera?

for example, 0.01 division size, 1 meter from camera will appear to be similar quality as .1, 10 meters from camera?

Is there a benchmark voxel count for production quality? A range that correlates with the 0.025-0.05 range I am familiar with being acceptable quality using division size.

If so, it should just be the product of [24, 13, 16].. that is 24 * 13 * 16 = 4992

Among other render settings, from what I gather when using volumes from SOPs, your Volume Resolution (divisions) primarily controls your detail/quality, independent of camera position.
But if you are using CVEX based volumes, the Mantra's Volume Quality param plays a larger role. This can also be camera dependent because volumes are generated at render time.
I'm not sure if you stumbled upon this thread already, quite old, but might still be useful.
