malik
therre is a topic in Houdini help about "Construction Plane Editing" (http://###.###.###.###/nodes/generic_state/floor) I never could find this construction plane mode / tool ? (operations with the c-plane handle do not correspond to what is described here) and there is this mysterious "Click over the construction plane any time during a Houdini session to bring up the construction plane menu regardless of what operation is current." ??? Any one knows about this stuff? Thanks P.S. posted on sidefx at the same time..
Matt_K
I have also tried and failed to get reasonable results with the c-plane, and the documentation is not very helpful!. It can get especially out of whack if there are any transforms at the object level - randomly and especially after some time re-orienting it. Sometimes orientation picking works as expected, other times clicking does nothing, or will result in orienting on the first click. Might be a display driver issue? I too would really like to know how to get it to work reliably. Matt. Edited November 24, 2016 by Matt_K Added more info
Guest tar
Yep - the construction plane is painfully hidden for it's importance... Tab over the viewport, type 'construction plane' will enable the RMB menu. Under the 'perp1', top right of the viewport, the 'Construction Plane Parameters...', 'Construction Plane Handle' gives the other controls, the 'Set Construction Plane' has the all important 'Revert to Defaults'
