markerline
Dear users: I can't get Houdini to launch. It Segmentation Faults every time. This occured all of a sudden this evening. It was working fine before but when I shut down and rebooted a while later and tried to launch I got this error. What can I do to fix it? Any help is appreciated. Sincerely, penciline
edward
Start up the Command Line Tools. In the DOS shell that comes up do: cd %HOME% move houdini7.0 houdini7.0.old If that doesn't work, maybe it's an environment variable.

I can't start a shell from within Houdini because it's immediately segment faulted. Should I do something from a conventional windows-shell? -penciline

Is it that my houdini7.0 folder became corrupt? -penciline
edward
Yeah, looks like something got corrupted. You could try narrowing it down by removing the new houdini7.0, making a copy of the houdini7.0.old directory to be houdini7.0 and then slowly delete files until it comes back up again. Glad to know I could get Houdini back up and running thanks to this forum. -penciline
