Fur rendering problem

I'd guess it's because you're missing the width-attribute on your guides.
Either you could just feed a constant value to the width if you're happy to not have tapering, otherwise you'd have to have a attribute that spans over the length of your guides so you could put a ramp on the width-attribute.
(Probably easier ways, but I usually just throw down a UV Texture node in Rows & Columns over Points and use the U value to apply my ramps over)
