anupamd
Hi guys, I am still having trouble writing out a proper bchan file from an app that I'm writing. Yes I know bchan may change in the future as a format and hence it's better to write to chan but .. I still want to write to bchan for it's compactness and also faster to load. It's a bit frustrating trying to reverse engineer bchan and i'm close but no cigar. I loaded the .bchan file in to vc++ and noticed a "chan" header. So I wrote that. Then included the interleaved data a.k.a chan float float float float... float float foat float ... so this seems to be ultra simple except houdini still does not see my .bchan file. I just need the bchan format documentation, and if I had that I'd be set. Or if someone can post an example. As allways, thanks for the help! It's on one of my old IRIX boxes at home plus I know the developer and will contact him should I have trouble finding it on my machines. --Mark

Jason
Out out curiosity - did you know that you could write out .chan files and feed them through chcp which I believe can convert from ASCII to binary format chans. I haven't tried it at all.
