How To Make Objects In Houdini To Be Traceable?

Recommended Posts

I used slim to make a raytrace shader (occlusion) and assigned to each object( a simple sphere and a ground plan), when I render, it said: Shaders invoke raytracing, but no traceable objects exsist.

I generated the rib file, and there is no trace option in the rib file!

there is a raytrace parameter can be checked in rat.where it is in houdini?maybe ....should I insert raytrace option in rib file?

thx for help!

Hi ykcosmo,

It depends on which version of Houdini you are using. In 8.0, the raytrace visibility options are in the Geometry Object's parameters under the Shading | RIB folders. There are various attributes for the different visibilities that an object can have for particular rays.

Hope that helps,

George.
