liu_0083
Great to find odforce alive again! It's my first post here. I've beening using maya for some times. There is a problem that the particle instance objects cannot be baked to normal objects with keys. Thus the animators would rather key by hand if not too much. Also deleting some unwanted after caching seems impossible. So I'm wondering if houdini can do this with ease. Thz. C.

C. 23513[/snapback] Why not just copy the part you need to control individually leaving the rest instanced? It will give you the same result as "baking". You could put some animated objects into switch sop and copy it onto selected particles with appropriate stamping. Is that close?
liu_0083
It seem I still think in Maya and you think in houdini. Sometimes we want a few of certain instanced object to speed up, slow down, or to move asdie a bit. May be I need to do some tests if it could be done as you said.
