diemo
hi folks, I am trying to master my first Houdini project: an excavator digs a hole into the ground. What is causing the grains to jump out again, once the shovel lifts up? Could it be mass related or is it something that forces the grains to rest in their former position? D'you have any ideas? *D Please take a look at this small video: 01_construction_site_v4.mp4 Edited August 31, 2020 by diemo
poncatoera
Try to turn off drag? Just a guess
diemo
Thank you, poncatoera, for your input. I reset up the simulation from ground up using the shelf tools. And as soon as I lower the particle separation for hires simulation the grains get their weird behaviour again. (see screenshot attached). How can I switch that drag off you mentioned? I haven't added any pop drag in my setup so far. Will try to change some parameters on the static object side of the shovel. > use object transform > on (as it had been scaled down because of the the scaling difference between Maya and Houdini) > create active object > on > bounce > 0 (from 0.5) > bounce forward > 0.1 (from 1) Edited September 3, 2020 by diemo
