Mcronin
The way SGI is doing you probably never will.
JColdrick
And be very thankful about it, too...SGI releases overpriced bloatware nowadays... ...and I remember huddling around the green glow of our first 3130 back in the 80's *sob* Cheers, J.C. Mcronin
I haven't touched an SGI in 5 and a half years now. My first job was the last time I used one. It was a piece of crap even at that time. Indigo, I think it had 128 megs or RAM and an old 120 Mhz R4000. My company had spent so much money on hardware they couldn't afford enough software licenses to go around. I could only get a PA license if none of my superiors needed it, and if I was using one, I'd have to give it up and use 3DS DOS if an SI artist on another team needed the PA license. Even though SGI machines are now overpriced and underpowered, I do kinda miss working on one. For my first job it did alot for my ego knowing someone had so much faith in me that they'd let me use a 25,000 dollar computer and 40,000 dollars worth of software, I know it sounds stupid, but at the time, even though the pay sucked and the company sucked, it made me feel really good about myself. ::SOB::
