rob
Hi guys, Im trying to get some guidence on the work flow for laying out UV's in houdini. I am used to a Maya or XSI workflow. I register the basics but still have some difficulty in just how to layout my UV's in the UV editor using mutliple projections and then to push out 1 map ready for photshop if anyone has a scene file I would be greatfull cheers Rob
LEO-oo-
Check the UVpelt-thread for help. To create an image for Photoshop - click on the last node and use "Export Texture UV to Image".
rob
Leo thanks for the try but it doesnt really answer my question does it ? I think the most fustrating thing about houdini is the entire lack of decent documentation side fx should get there act sorted ....blender has better docs ... sibarrick
Hi Rob, If you don't want to use the uvpelt sop, then you could try either using uvunwrap which will automatically project from several directions. Just hit 5 in the viewport to see the layout created. or make groups where you want your different coordinates and use individual uvprojects on each group. For each project you would need to set the range to a unique part of the final map so that you avoid overlapping uvs. Final once you have your basic projections sorted out you would work with a uvedit sop or uvbrush to tweak the positions.
