mattd
I am attemping a crushing style effect where a fractured object takes a glancing impact and needs to lose a a few pieces, with a resulting smashed end and displaced material. I have been trying to animated the glue strength back to -1 after impact using the RBD State DOP, but it seems that once moving, the object can not get frozen. Drag is out, because the objects needs to be reglued to a solid object that continues to be affected by gravity. there might be a solution there with multiple solvers, but I am curious how others approach this. Thanks MD
Lukich
I don't have Houdini in front of me right now, but I do believe there's a node called RBD keyframe or something like that that allows you to make your simulation run its course for a number of frames and then you can take over with keyframes. This will allow you to freeze your simulation after a certain number of frames.
