Grouping primitives by proximity

Hello, first post here, and i'm sorry if it's something really newbish.

I would like an easy way to group primitives by a certain threshold of distance. I mean grouping different clusters of primitives.

From what i see there's the connectivity node, but it works only for primitives that share points, i'd like something like that but with a distance threshold.

So for example if there's a primitive not connected that is at 2mm of distance, i can include it in the same "class group" setting a threshold of 3mm. And if there's another third primitive connected, or not connected but 2mm away get included and so on...

I was thinking to something with pcopen/pcfind but i'm not sure.
