Weird artifacts on VDB Mesh of FLIP simulation

Hey everyone,

I'm having some weird issues occurring during the meshing of my FLIP simulation. When I look at the particle simulation, everything seems to be pretty smooth. Generating the VDB mesh however is causing these weird black artifacts in the animation (see video below). 
Wondering if anyone's come across this issue before, and what I could do to fix this.
Im running a fairly simple FLIP simulation that spins the fluid around just slightly.
I then run it through a VDB from Particles, into a reshape, then a smooth. 
After the smooth I do a VDBCombine and boolean the collision geometry for an even more accurate mesh.
