3dbeing
Im not sure what you mean by "how".. Do you want "how" create particle sim, "how" to render, "how" to what? If time is running out and you need photoreal water, you might be in trouble... -3db

You'll need time, and processing power, and more time, but personally I feel that the results from that program are pretty solid. If you're looking for tutorials, I think Gnomon has one for realflow, and Digital Tutors also has a couple... but I don't seem to recall them being too in depth in regards to a coast type effect... 3dbeing
I really think you need to ask a more specific question other than how to make a "particle system for water otl" That's quite a broad topic, and being that H9 will have a liquid solver, you might just want to wait till then to build your otl. Allegro
Conveniently enough, Jeff Wagner made a post in his Houdini blog today about waves in Houdini http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com...&Itemid=
