Reflective Volume Materials in Arnold/Material X

Recommended Posts

Hi,

The studio that I work for is currently in the process of switching over to Houdini/Arnold as our main software packages.

I am attempting to create a reflective volume material, I have done this in the past with Mantra for whitewater/snow, but I would like to get it working in Arnold if possible.

The mantra material looks like the above image, and just involved piping a gradient volume into the normal of a pbr reflect node.

Unfortunately Arnold does not appear to have anything similar, and I am still very new to MaterialX stuff so I am not to sure what the best way to approach this is.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.
