Stremik
Could someone of those who has a dual (Windows/Linux) boot system tell me, How do you browse Windows directories from Linux? Do I need some utility for this? Which one? Thank you.
TheUsualAlex
Hey there, In KDE (I am using KDE now), you should see "Home" on your desktop. Just click on that. It's kind of hard to explain on text (I think), but once you opened up that one, just play around with the icons. Find an icon that looks like a file folder on the middle of the explorer (where you see bunch of icons). That'll show you root directories which include ALL folders in the system. In Gnome, do the same thing, but I think that the explorer is a bit different compared to KDE. Another method is just browsing via shell terminal. I highly recommend you to get "Linux in a Nutshell" --I highly recommend -- (from O'Reily) for command reference, and probably get one of those Red Hat Linux book (I have "Red Hat Linux 8 Bible") They're pretty helpful for me in terms of knowing enough of the basics to get me very comfortble with it. Hope that at least helped a little... ALex
miguel m
Is the partition(s) fat or ntfs. Also let me know if you're using a custom or stock kernel. If you want you can search for the file /etc/fstab and post here the contents, just to make sure we will not be reinventing the wheel on your linux.
