ronnyJ Posted yesterday at 11:41 AM Share Posted yesterday at 11:41 AM hello everyone! I am quite new to FX in Houdini and have an eating animation that I want to combine a mesh to where the geo breaks between everybite the person takes! I am learning about constraints but am very new to the workflow but was wondering if anyone could help me as im scouring the internet but have no clue on how to do it! paranoidx
Assume: animated cookie geo You need to freeze the animation (Timeshift node), fracture the geometry, and create constraints for the part of the cookie being eaten where the mouth geometry collides. (check tutorial) Use the mouth geometry for the impact condition and remove the constraint. (Another method you can use is to transfer the i@active attribute to the collision area; this method is less computationally expensive.) Some keywords for your search: "active RBD," "extract transform," "fracture animated geometry." You may need this tutorial assuming the cookie is being eaten away, requiring you to replace the original geometry with the fractured geometry on the animated geo.
