Krakatuk
I'm a bit confused about using Light template with PBR, I mean when I add VEX Global Illumination shader to the Light template and use View-dependent photon map generation like in example for PBR in Help - mantra crashes. It only works with lights from the shelf. Am I doing something wrong or LT shouldn't work in PBR or it doesn't work at all?
stevenong
Hi, Which is the example you're talking about? You don't need to use the VEX Global Illumination shader with a Light Template object. After generating the photon map, go to your mantra ROP's PBR tab, set Secondary GI Cache to use Photon Map and specify the path correctly in the Global Photon File parameter. I've attached a simple example. Cheers! steven pbr_tubes.hip

The example I was talking about is no matter now. :-) One more lil' question - why in your example corners of the box are strangly bright? stevenong
The corners were "rounded" because I polyextruded the edges. After putting down a Facet SOP to cusp the geometry, the bright corners are gone. You're welcome! Cheers! steven
