edward
I haven't seen the spot yet but CGW has a great article on it: http://cgw.pennnet.com/Articles/Article_Di...TICLE_ID=165178
Mcronin
I've seen this commercial many times. It's pretty brilliant. I always wondered how they did it. I thought maybe they filmed two real cars, one black one silver with a motion controlled camera and did the effect purely through compositing. It's a really great spot, you can't tell they used a CG car at all. I don't know if you'll be able to catch the commercial on the air anymore, I haven't seen it in a while. TheUsualAlex
I have asked Denis Gauthier about this fx back in earlier November. I am really impressed with what he alone did. He basically had to figure out a way to birth particles off from the leading edge of the paint from prman. Of course, custom VEX POP was involved in where the particles were birth.VERY impressive. I wish I could conceive and do something like that.
