Question
Hello, A couple of days ago I decided to take a second look at the latest Apprentice and followed some version 9 tutorials. Everything's gone relatively well so far. But I have a question: Is there an align button hiding somewhere? I mean that usual one being used to align separate objects An other one is, when I use any of the snap modes for snapping primitives to each others only arrows of the handlers snap to other objects but not the first object's itself. Is it the way that Houdini works or I'm making a mistake Regards Question PS: Sorry for unclear points if any exist, English is not my native language
Question
Hello again, Any news? Well maybe I have to apply a poly_reduce to my former question What is the easiest way to snap two objects in Houdini (let's say lowest point of the first one to the top one of an other's)? I searched online help and two forums but couldn't find anything easier thn "release handler, grab the pivot, snap it where you want, unrelease it , do the same for the second object, align or snap them, return the handlers to original positions". I guess there is but maybe I, blind, can not see the obvious Regards and thanks for reading my noob question Edited December 8, 2007 by Question
Jason
Unfortunately there is no "align" or snapping along a single axis of translation in Houdini yet. It is an often requested feature as it's essential to modeling rigid/mechanical objects.
