cspears2002
I'm working out of a really old Houdini tutorial (Houdini 6?). For the tutorial I am trying to model a flesh eating plant. Unfortunately, I am having trouble placing thorns along the plant's stem. The tutorial uses the technique of creating a small cone and then using the Align SOP to place the thorns along the plant. I entered the values for the parameters given in the tutorial, but they did not work. Any advice? My guess is that particular technique was chosen because the stem is animated to simulate swallowing. You can observe this by scrolling through the timeline. Theoretically, thorns placed on the stem with the Align SOP would move with the surface when the plant swallowed. I attached the hip file, so everyone can see what I am talking about. audrey_v04.hipnc
GallenWolf
Dude, what about using the copy sop to copy the thorns onto the main body. The thorns copied this way should also follow the animation of the base mesh. GW
