sanostol
Hi I want to split particles from instances. but when I do this the loose all there initial velocity and thats bad is it a bug or not implemented
GallenWolf
Perhaps post a scene file? I tried a quick test - location pop and instance pop followed by a split pop, velocity is inherited properly. Or are you doing something else? GW
sanostol
sure, the split in the sim obj makes me sad Perhaps post a scene file? sanostol
Hi Alvin, maybe You could post Your little test. Mine still does not work
GallenWolf
Seems to work. The initial instances spawn multiple smaller instances and those smaller ball instances bounce on the floor. All seems good. What's the problem?
sanostol
yes, but they do not inherit the motion of the source instance, do they? Seems to work. The initial instances spawn multiple smaller instances and those smaller ball instances bounce on the floor. All seems good. What's the problem? GallenWolf
Ah I see. it only works when source is set to particle, not volume on the split node. Hmmm, interesting. I need to look at this more. Any other more experienced pop ppl know why the velocity is not inherited from the other emission options like points (random)? sanostol
one thing, Alvin, in Your sample file You are splitting from points, that works, but I want to split from instance volume
GallenWolf
Yes. I'm not sure what's up with that. I would suggest asking the question in the official SESI forums. GW
