Rman pipeline busted ? (AIR)

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I opened file i created some time ago where everything was set up to render nicely with AIR, but it did not render at all on 9.1.179. When making scene from the scratch, it refused to render shadows and after i added another object, it wasnt affected by light at all. For those willing to try (aracid ?), here is file that is supposed to render nicely with AIR. Tryed both on linux and that other crappy monkey-made operating system i can really not remember name of, but i think it begins with letter w.

When I open up the .hip in H9.5 (at least), I get errors:

- Bad node type found: air_V2SidedPlastic

- Bad node type found: air_uberlight

Any chance of getting those nodes? And I expect that I'd need to see the shaders... Are you coming from H8 or H9.0?

It seems the .hip file in the .rar file was saved with H9.1.179, so did something change since it no longer works with that version?

Those nodes are air shaders, only thing that changed was that i use 9.1.244 now and that i also installed indigo4houdini. Later i reinstalled houdini and air, checked all environment variables, removed $HOME/houdini9.1 and still did not work.

In a quick inspection, I don't see any depth-mapped shadows. So, perhaps something changed in the ray-traced shadow parameters?

Is it possible for you to generate two .rib files (for the two different versions) and see what the differences are in the two .rib files?

I'm not sure if this would change things though. And it's kind of hard to track down without those shaders. I can render the image, but without the shaders, it's hard to see what's wrong.
