pld
Hi All, i'm trying to use the ripple solver to generate boat wakes. As far as I understand, the ripple solver works by comparing an initial position (one frame) to a rest position which is fine for generating ripples as they don't generally translate. I want to simulate a wake generated by a translating boat, is there a way to do so? My initial position is a grid with a "lump" whereas my rest position is a flat grid. By simply using the initial position, the ripples eventually die out and are generated from the same position. What I would like is to move the lump across the grid and have the solver use this to generate the ripples/wakes. I even tried to give a velocity to points in my initial geometry but doesn't seem to be working... any solution would be fine as long as the ripples move with my boat! thanks

pld
fixed it using deforming rest geometry
