alonzo
Hi all, I'm new to Houdini. Playing a little bit with it. Its fun, and more challenging then other 3d package. But now to my question: Is there a tutorial how to create a basic SOP, because I would like to render a clay-wireframe in Houdini. I found the polywire node, but this is not the way, I'm looking for (this is like duplicate mesh, turn to wire, like in blender). It would be appreciate, if somebody could help me please Thx in advance Allan Edited July 21, 2008 by alonzo

vmuriel
You can use wireframe node. By the way, the ambient occlusion is really really fast. Scene made with Houdini 9.5.171 wireframe.hipnc Edited July 21, 2008 by vmuriel
alonzo
wow thanks.. that helped me a lot, because now I know what I did wrong but one question to your file: if I change the Wirecolor to Black, it disappears
vmuriel
That file only show a method, you need to change the logic for your scene. A good exercise is to do that change. I attach a posible solution, but before try it yourself. A perfect solution would be to add a parameter and a network working for any color. Try it ! wireframe_black.hipnc Edited July 21, 2008 by vmuriel

I've also just added a video tutorial to the side effects site which would show an alternate method one could use do this. http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com...&Itemid=
