Yoav Dolev
Hello all, I'm having a problem with a rather simple scene. I have a ball hitting a wall using RBD. I'm trying to get the ball to bounce in a certain set direction (rather then random), but it just won't. tried using a point sop and applying directional force, but no go. Does anyone have any ideas?? thanks
michael
remove any angular forces on the ball - so that it's not rotating...and remove all the friction etc... then it should be angle of incidence = angle of reflection and/or attatch your file and we can have a look.. Yoav Dolev
Hey Michael, Thanks for the quick reply. The problem is I need the ball to rotate. Basically I'm trying to imitate a pinball bouncing around. I'm attaching a simplified file with some simulation. I want to ball to bounce from the right block, off to the left one, to the middle one, and then back to the rear of the frame. Thanks alot Bounce_simple.hip

Thanks alot Hello Yoav, You may be able to solve your problem by using the rbdKeyActive DOP. Just animate the active value to keyframe (0), then key frame the angle you want it to bounce in. After that just key the active value back to the sim (1). I attached a demo file. I hope that helps, ~Ilan keyActive.hipnc
