Adept
Hi, I've made Font geo and extruded it. Then let's say I need to extrude back and front faces once more. Then I get theese edges inside. Blast SOP for deleting unnecessary edges does not seems to be helpful. edges_issue.hip
kubabuk
use poly extrude and in the option tab tick remove shared edges - that should help. kuba
sibarrick
Or turn off the "hole faces" option on the font sop
Adept
I tried all combinations with the Font's "Hole Faces", PolyExtrude's "Remove shared sides" and Extrude's "Hole polygons" and "Remove shared sides". By setting off Holes I actually get no holes, which is useless. Otherwise unwanted edges appear again. Any thoughts? Btw, sometimes it needs Reverse SOP for inside curves of every letter. sibarrick
Just use the version without holes to make the sides, and a version with the holes for the front and back.
kubabuk
Indeed the problem isn' t as simple as it seems. Have a look at the file attached. Option 3 is IMO the best solution, although you have to work on bevels separately. Hope it makes sense. kuba edges_issue.hipnc

Faces are holed separately using a Hole SOP. edges_issue2.hip
