simonj
Hi everyone. Something that has always been bothering me is how to make a glossy reflective/ high contrast material. The kind of black plastic material that can be seen on for example macbook pro's (the new model) or iphones. I've never been able to recreate this effect in any 3d application. Here's some examples from a 3d motion that is exactly the kind of material I'm looking for. motion: http://www.slashthree.com/artpacks/view/1086/ So could anyone send me in the right direction, I've tried using different HDRI-maps, both as reflections maps and area maps (together with a light), but I'm often getting far to much "texture" from the HDRI map. Any help is very appreciated. thanks! Simon J
anamous
Here's a quick and dirty approach. You'd need a better HDRI and stronger art direction, and I would recommend outputting reflections / refractions / diffuse / fresnel passes and tweaking in compositing. cheers, Abdelkareem dark_ominous.hip
