Virtual Pyro
Hi all! I was wanting to know how we attach particles to objects we use as rbd's. I have noticed alot of simulations where you have debris fall off the broken chunks of an object as they fall and im not quite sure what is necessary to get this effect. Could I get some help on setting this up please? I would also like to shade it so that it looks like dust or smoke. Thank you!!! michael
as is so often the case in Houdini...the answer to your question is right there in the UI... have a look at the 'Debris' shelf tool.
Virtual Pyro
as is so often the case in Houdini...the answer to your question is right there in the UI...have a look at the 'Debris' shelf tool. Ok thank you. I actually added this node for a bridge I created but it didnt work correctly, which is why I was asking the question here. However, I did add a grid and allowed it to be broken up and then added the debris sop and now its working. May I ask how it is usually rendered to appear to have smoke or dust in the place of debris? Is it point clouds or textures? Im sorry for the very simple questions but im just now learning how this all works.
michael
the default Debris tool will contain a sprite pop with a shader that has the smokepuff.rat texture... you should put down the simplest example and look into all the networks and read up on each node...
