Some help with particles - fluid and instancing related!

Hi everyone, just downloaded Houdini Apprentice and i'm thinking of using it for what the dynamics/sim/particle stuff is concerned (i'm a Maya guy)

I was just toying around with some of the powertools houdini has to offer.

I really like the procedural node based workflow, it's great.

I'm just a few hours on it and already feel (half)comfortable with that way of thinking :)

And, well, as lots of people switching to houdini (i think lol), the first think i tried to do is DESTROOOOOOOY things!

Well, no more useless speech, let's dig into my questions!

I'm trying to add debris to my RBD Glue Objects. Well, actually i made it. But one thing that's dooming me is which metod is best for instancing:

Instance, or copy node? What are the benefits/downsides of both methods? Because i feel i'm getting the same result, but i don't know if i should use one or another! :o

Second: i want a SECOND pass of debris coming from my object (say, one for instanced mini pieces of geometry, another for "point" particle to represent fine dust or something like that). But if i try to do that, nothing happens. Should i simply copy&paste the nodes inside my debris node, and create relative nodes into the Dop network? Or is there a better method? (i fear i can do some damage doing that  )

Theeeeen...just a question as it is (i didn't try to be honest, but since i'm here, why don't ask!). If i want a "cloud" of smoke/dust coming from the shatter with fluids (see attached mov) how can i say "hey, well, at frame 10 you can start the sim"? I repeat, didn't try atm, so you can bypass on this one and i'll just discover it myself  (or i could just export the baked geometry in maya and composite that XDD - oh wait. I'm on apprentice, cannot do that.)

Attached is my first simple simulation in my new flashy Houdini Apprentice! It gives satisfaction

Thanks you all, awesome community ;)

If you can't tell the difference, then the Copy SOP is good enough. If you run into problems, use MantraInstancing. I suck at DOPs so I'll stop here. :)
