cspears2002
I am working on an electron microscope scene that includes a diatom sitting on surface. Both the diatom and surface are partially encrusted with some sort of crystal/mineral deposit. Eventually I want to add some microbes that swim around. My main concern right now is render time. The crystals take a while to render. Plus, my scene file is getting bigger! The size of the scene file might be caused by a bug in Houdini Apprentice 10.0.295. However, I noticed that I just have a lot of stuff happening in my scene! Let me know what you think! microworld_v03_4.hipnc
beeemtee
there was a bug in 295, which has been fixed since. to check that if this is your problem, see if there is a strange meaningless and very long string in the lut string in the color correction tab of the color settings window. if there is, then i recommend you to switch to the daily build, and delete that string. cheers bmt Edited July 30, 2009 by beeemtee
cspears2002
Wow. I see what you mean. This is turning in to a real pain to fix. Can I fix it by hacking the hipnc file? That might be easier.

Ok I figured it out. I went to the preferences directory and removed the string from the colors pref file.
