Naturally I can do compositing. Software I know is Houdini, Maya, Adobe suite and Nuke. Check out my website and let me know what you think. Not sure if there any hangout for FX people, but I'd say that you might spot people at Hinanos on Friday lunches, or Firehouse... Most of the effects places are in Culver City, or near 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica. There are a lot of post-houses in Santa Monica, actually, which probably have the highest staff turnover these days as it seems features are little slow these days.
