Hi Odforce! I present you my first personal project done entirely in Houdini. I basically learn the software throught this project and finally I came to the end of it. Please let me know what you think of the dynamics, the look and breakdown. I am really scratching the surface of Houdini so critics are well appreaciated! Ill update the hip file for those who wants to wonder around the network (H 14.0.474) thanks to the amazing Odforce community for helping me implementing the scene. meteorite_v100.zip

Hi I'm tying to create a digital asset that create smoke when particles hit. It works when I create it in a normal context. But when I create a digital asset it does not want to generate any smoke... Has anyone encountered this issue and/or has a solution for it? Thanks for your reply. Ps.: I uploaded the digital asset. OPcustom.hda

Hello everyone! I am trying to create an hairspray/aerosol sim. I started with a particle sim for the fast ejected part. I then use that as a source for a smoke sim. i tried tons of different smoke shapes but i can't achieve the result im looking for. any idea on how to setup the smoke sim properly? would you suggest another workflow? any tip are much appreciated! thank you in advance reference [1-9 sec ] problems: -mushroom shape, if i get rid of it increasing dissipation, the smoke sim look just like the smoke source -not getting that cone like spray smoke aerosol_spray_particles_v01.mov aerosol_spray_smokee_v01.mov aerosol_spray_smokesource_v01.mov aerosol_spray_v05_tips.hipnc

BRAND NEW TO HOUDINI..NEED HELP TO FINISH A SMOKE SIM

HI, GUYS I'M VERY NEW TO HOUDINI. I WAS FOLLOWING A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO CREATE A DUST STORM, BUT I GOT STUCK ON HOW TO MAKE THE SMOKE/DUST SIM MOVE TOWARD THE CAMERA ON THE X AXIS. THE TUTOR IN THE VIDEO USED A SOURCE APPLY NODE IN HIS AUTODOP HE RENAMED 'DUST SIMULATION'. IN HIS SOURCE APPLY NODE HE RIGHT CLICKED ON THE X AXIS BOX THEN WENT INTO MOTION EFFECTS/NOISE, HE CHANGED THE NOISE TO ALLIGATOR AND CHANGED SOME OTHER SETTINGS IN THAT BOX TO GET THE SIM TO MOVE ON THE X AXIS. UNFORTUNATELY THIS TUTORIAL IS FROM 2011, HOUDINI 13 DOES NOT HAVE THE SOURCE APPLY NODE ANYMORE, SO NOW I'M STUCK ON HOW I CAN MAKE THE SIM MOVE TOWARD THE CAMERA OR ON THE X AXIS. CAN ANYONE HELP A NEWBIE? YOUR HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
