Basically, whats the procedure for working with SSS and displacements? The SSS scatter sop works with the geometry pre-render, and baking the displacements to the viewport for SSS scattering seems a bit stiff. How would you deal with it? Anyhow, forgive my simplemindedness, but do SSS ever get calculated After the displacement? Cause I'm getting the impression, after some testing in mental ray, that displacement is a post-sss effect? an image why not. see those black things. Those are the displacement overlaps.
