gvim in houdini pannel

I think is doable, but I prefer to have vim in the editor widget before.

What do you mean by "editor widget"? Do you mean to have vim as text editor when you alt+F3?

Nope I mean that you have a way to change the default editor to work in vim mode.

for instance in the preferences in the misc tab you can have an option to set editor s Vim .

So when you open it using Alt-E, or the editor embedded in the shelf tool editor dialog, it load a vim buffer and can use your vim setting.

I would love to get this going, however I don't see any txt editor related stuff under preferences>misc:
