waibeans
hey guys, Has anyone used 3d tracking software with Houdini? I have been messing around with Boujou 1.3, 2.1 and RealViz Matchmover. I have working copies of boujou 1.3 and matchmover and a demo of boujou 2.1.. and while all of them can export 3d scenes out to Maya, the only one that can export directly to Houdini is boujou 2.1 It is possible to convert the camera animation data from maya to houdini 5.5? I have been successful in converting geometry before, but I can't seem to find any place to import camera animation. How do I do this and what format should I export from maya? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Waibeans
concept4
I'm pretty sure that you have to dump the channel data of the camera out of maya and then I believe you'll have channels you can use in houdini. http://www.odforce.net/codex/tools.php convchan I think is what you need. There is also an equation somewhere in the docs that you need to use to convert the camera settings. I just matchmoved a scene today to be used in houdini and I used icarus for that. I tried bojou but I got better results with icarus. Icarus if you use it will produce a clip file with channels you have to export in chops. Hope that helps
