Macha
Ahh, for some reason I stumble over this: I want to extract u or v curves from a NURBS surface so that I can use them individually for lofting. I tried various things such as ends sop, carve sop, convert sop, etc, but I always end up with an invisible NURBS surface and a bunch of curves that consist of just one primitive or something else I can't extract the curves from. How do I do this? puzzled.hipnc Edited November 6, 2010 by Macha
anim
try Convert SOP to polygons - Rows for U, Columns for V - Interpolate through hulls Convert SOP to NURBS curve - maybe play with U order
Macha
Yes, you're right, something like this works. It's not perfect yet but good enough for what I do. Thanks. uvcurves.hipnc
kubabuk
use the carve sop and increase u divisions, see attached file puzzled_carve.hipnc
Macha
Thanks Kuba. In fact if I set it to breakpoints I get the exact original curves. Solved! use the carve sop and increase u divisions, see attached file
