Emanuele Berti
Hi, if you are referring to this thread: at that time there wasn't a geometry light in Houdini (at least I think so), so I faked it instancing a light to the points along the laser... for my purposes it did the job, now could be more interesting try the new geometry lights. Sorry if I didn't attach you any hip file, but as you can see it's really easy to do it... - just create a light, - in your geometry (your laser line) make visible the instance tab - and toggle on the point instancing and connect your light there. Hope that helps. Cheers, Emanuele
Macha
A line area-light works well too, especially if you surround it with fog. Other things to try would be a tube with emission switched on in the shader. Or, best perhaps to do it in post. By coincidence I just did such an effect here: Edited December 3, 2010 by Macha
xoctan657
Emanuele Berti thanks for reply, i did it as you say but what about shader , i use the glow shader , in your project you use the glow also or other shader . macha you mean i must use an area light instide of point light. it is just cool your effect.
